Post 1- Deserted Island

Imagine that you are stuck on a deserted island with little hope of rescue, much like the characters in William Golding's Lord of the Flies. What three things do you wish you would have with you in this situation? Explain what three things would be most important to you and why they are important. For example, is there a certain item that you would want that would help ensure survival, or is there anything else you can think of that would help make life on a deserted island a little more comfortable/enjoyable?

Be creative in your responses, and of course, be sure to follow the rules of standard written English. Your responses must be at least 200 words. This post will be due Friday, 9/27, by 3PM.

  3. If I were stranded on a deserted island, I would bring at least three objects. I would bring an infinite supply of my diabetes supplies to make it possible to survive (this counts as one item as it serves as my pancreas). I would need my supplies to check my blood glucose, administer insulin when needed, and to know when to search for food (if blood glucose is low). I would also bring a Swiss army knife. I would use my Swiss army knife to make tools, gut animals, eat, make traps, and much more. The last item I would bring is a GPS device. I would activate my GPS device every morning, noon, and night sending a distress signal in hope of being rescued. Hopefully I would be on an island that had trash carried to it by the tide and waves. I would take the useful trash I find to make containers and tools for my future survival on the island. During my first days on the island, I would build a fire and shelter so that I would stay safe and warm throughout the night. In order to make a fire, I would search for a piece of flint, some tinder to start the fire, and scrape the flint against the steel of my Swiss army knife to create sparks. In the event that I am never rescued, I would hope that a human female would one day come to the island by some fate. If such an event were to occur, I would attempt to start a family with her. If I am successful in creating a family, we would populate the island with humans and establish some sort of farming or "infinite" source of food such as fishing. We would be known as the Ranian people and prosper for generations.

  4. If I were stuck on a deserted island the three things I would want is a parachute, my friends (Kate Upton included) and a water powered mansion. Inside the mansion is everything you need to sustain life. The mansion is important because other than it just providing us protection we would never have to leave because it's stock full of everything. My friends are also important because without them I would be lonely and loneliness sucks. The most important thing though is my parachute. My parachute shows my dominance and without it people would not know I am the leader. If anyone, even one single person were to ever lay a single finger on my parachute I would be adequately forced to set fire to the mansion, and watch as my friends, except Jacob because he has done no wrong, suffer while we fly away on my magical parachute. Kate Upton may also come being that she is the only female and I am not so cruel as to leave her on a law-free deserted island with a bunch of hormone crazed teenage boys. Bless my soul. P.S. my parachute is large enough to fit three people and has the magical abilities of a jet pack.

  6. There are many things that I would miss about the civilized world if I was stranded on a deserted island. The first thing I would miss is the company of people. I wouldn’t want many people because they would get on my nerves, and they would just be more mouths to feed. One or two people will be enough to suit my needs. The second thing I would want to have is a machete. I’d imagine there is thick brush I’d have to whack through. It would also be useful to get fruit from trees, gather building materials, and get fire wood. The last thing I would want is a metal container to hold water. When I find a source of water I can boil it over the fire I make using a primitive bow drill I made from wood I find and a vine in the metal canister to ensure its safety. With the machete I could fashion wooden tools and weapons to get meat. With the things I chose to bring with me on a deserted island I could keep me and my partners alive with a shelter kept off the ground to protect us from other animals, food with the proper balance of nutrition we need to survive, and safe water rid from the impurities found in the water.

  7. If I were stuck on a deserted island I would have three items as being a helicopter with an autopilot built in, a wing suit, and an unlimited supply of gas. The helicopter has an autopilot built in so it can land itself after I jump out. Plus the island already has edible vegetation on it, and animals that I could breed to make more. The animals when some are killed could be used for food and clothing. Clothing will be made out of pigskins and cow skins. The easiest way to kill the animals would be to use the helicopter blades. Then I would use some gas, flint, and the steel of the helicopter to start the fire. I did not conjure the flint it was just a byproduct of the island. After I have all my food set its time to go have fun by base jumping, and not kill myself. Maybe sail around the mountain a few times land go up in the helicopter and do it again. Then I would go eat some delicious steak pork chops and a nice salad from the vegetation of the island. Jesse caskey

  8. If I was stranded on a deserted island, I’d like to have someone with knowledge on how to survive on the island with me that I get along with. Then I might have a chance of living instead of dying as soon as I eat something poisonous. If this person knew how to make shelters, that would be good too.

Another thing that would be good is a picture of my family. At least if I had that, I would feel like I have a chance of seeing them again. I would want to swim back to land just to see them again and possibly drown in the attempt. I would drown or be eaten. If I was lucky, in swimming back to land, I would find a boat that had people on it and they could give me a ride to the nearest airport and I could go home and find my family.

The third thing would probably be a good supply of lighters. All I’d have to do to make a fire would be to find good wood, make a fire pit, and light the wood. I would be able to live through a night if animals don’t come out of the woods while I sleep and maul or eat me.

Quite obviously I have no idea how to survive on a deserted island. If I had someone who did, a picture of my family, and a good supply of lighters, I might have more luck. But probably not.

  9. If i was stuck on a deserted island the thing i would wish to have the most was potatoes. i love potatoes and you need food to survive.I could live off them every day of my life if i had to. Another item i would defantly need is matches or a lighter so i can start a fire and not freeze to death while waiting to be rescued. The item i would want the most is a banjo! It would give me something to do everyday. If i could have another thing on the island with me i would want a boat so i can pattle away. That would be the smart thing to do! I think i would just want a magicall uicorn that could give me everything i wanted or needed. That would make things alot easier.

  10. If i was stuck on an island, the three things I would bring would be my friends, I would also bring a huge amount of food, and the last thing I would bring is machete. I would have my friends build huts or houses so we can be comfortable at night. I would go out and hunt animals for animal hides to make clothing. With my machete I would cut down small trees and make spears and tools. My friends would go out and look for some fresh water. They find fresh water and we set up our huts there for now on. We have plenty of food but there is also game on the island and there is plenty of fish in the sea. There are females on the island so we can create offspring if we want to but we haven't started yet. We have named the island 'Murica. Our huts have been made into small homes now and each has a small group in each. Each group has a certain job to do, my huts job is to hunt and fish. We have caught over 500 fish so far and killed over 300 small game and about 150 big game. The biggest thing I killed with my machete was 150 pound boar. My island has become a nation now that is more powerful than the United States. All hail 'Murica. Jacob Tarbox

  11. If I were on a deserted island there are many things that I would need. Picking three things I’d wish to have would be relatively difficult, but I will try to anyway. One of my three things I would wish for would be a dingy. A dingy provides a roof for multiple shelters I may need. A dingy also provides a bed that would be much more comfortable than the ground. Lastly, a dingy is a small boat that I could use to escape the island with. The second ting I would wish for would be satellite television with no commercials that way I will never get bored. Lastly I would wish for a Genie. With a Genie I’d get three more wishes. With two of the wishes I would get things I need, and with the third wish I would wish for three more wishes. I’ll never run out of wishes, nor will I ever not have something I need. With my unlimited wishes I’d wish for an attractive woman on the island with me. I would wish for a personal chef and a maid. I would also wish for a mansion because mansions have so much swag. These are just some of the things I would wish for.

  12. If I was stranded on a deserted island, I'm not really sure what I would do or what I would bring with me. I think the first thing I would want to bring with me is a four wheeler or some kind of ATV. It would make it alot easier to explore the island and scope out the natural resources if I had a form of transportation. I would also want a lifetime supply of gasoline and lighters, so I would never be in danger of freezing to death, and so I would have a fire to cook food on if I could ever catch anything. I would also want to bring my boyfriend and dog for company, so I wouldn't be lonely all the time, because the quiet would drive me insane. These are the things I would want to have if I ever got stranded on a deserted island.

  13. If I were stuck on a deserted island i would want three things. 1) A parachute. 2) A machete. 3) A four wheeler...A honda 300ex with unlimtited gas. A few reasons i would need a parachute is to use the cords to make snares and traps. I would use the parachute to store food along with the ice i found on a frozen pond on the island. Or if i was being chased by beast i could jump off the clif and not die. I would need a machete to kill animals and whittle sticks into spears and also to cut down trees and bushes to to build a house or hut for shelter. I would also need a four wheeler for transportation and entertainment. I could build jumps on the beach and practice doing tricks on my four wheeler. Then if I was going to wreck i could pull out my parachute and survive. I could also use my four wheeler to rouynd up so wild horses on the island.157 After a while i built a device to make my four wheeler float and or ride on water so i could escape by myself. But then half way home i started sinking so i had to swim back to my deserted island, and while i was gone a hurricane came by a destroyed the island and all my stuff so i could not survive. A few days later i died and was eaten by the beast on the island.

  14. If I was deserted on an abandoned island, there would only be three things I would need to get by. The three things I would need is Luke Bryan, a knife, and matches. Luke Bryan there to make me smile everyday and if we get attacked, i'm throwing Luke at the vicious creature. I would bring a knife to cut up animals caught or to build stuff. Luke would fish while I was roaming around the island searching for other people or something we could use. Knifes can be used for many things. I would bring a set of matches, you know the ones that can get wet and still end up on working after that. I would build a house out of leaves and trees. I would find something to carve a bowl out of to boil water so it was drinkable. We would collect all of the food on the island so we could ration it. Luke and I would get married and, end up on building a nice house there and living happily ever after. That’s what i’d do if I was deserted on an abandoned island. By the way, I really really really love Luke Bryan.

  15. If I happened to be on a deserted island, there would be three things necessary for me to ensure survival. The first thing i would need on this island would be a mansion. This mansion would be filled with all things needed to survive. This would make survival almost certain. The mansion would have an unlimited supply of food and water. As well as all tools of survival anyone could possibly think of. The garage of the mansion would be filled with gasoline. This amount of fuel would easily be enough to go anywhere in the world. Also a second thing I would bring would be Bear Grylls. This man has extensive knowledge of how to survive in any type of climate and condition. This would be a great asset to help with survival on an island. While planning an escape, he could help with using the tools in the mansion to help prepare for anything needed to help leave the island. A third and final thing I would need would be a plane to get off the island. I would us the fuel from the garage to fuel the plane. With the tools in the mansion i would build a runway and fly away to civilization. therefore I would never see the island again.

  16. If I were stranded on a deserted island I would want many things, but because I can only choose three things I would first bring a big cooler with a lot of food in it. I would want a lot of food because if there was no food that I could eat I would want some food to eat. Some of the foods I would bring would be some bacon, for protein. I would bring apples and carrots for fruits and vegetables. I would also bring many loafs of bread for my grains and carbohydrates.

The second thing I would bring would be a very good and sturdy lighter. With the lighter I could start fires to boil water and cook my food. I could also use the fire as a light source and heat for cold and brisk nights. The lighter would be a good asset so I wouldn’t die on the island.

The last I would bring is a fully stocked first aid kid. There is no doubt that I would get sick or I might get a cut from coral in the ocean. If I twist my ankle I could wrap it up and keep it from swelling. The first aid kit would also be a good thing to have on the island while I am there.

If I had other people there they could do all of the things I wouldn't want too. Another thing I would like to have is a little house on the island where I could sleep and put food and also be safe there. If it rained or if it was windy it wouldn’t affect the house at all. The last thing I would like to have is a lot of food and water so I don't die. If I ever ran out I would make one of my friends kill animals so I won’t have too. Hopefully, I would be stranded on an island people knew about and they could come save me. I probably wouldn’t be able to survive with those things for very long though.

I would be very scared if I was stranded on a deserted island. If I ever were stuck on a island I would most likely die but if I had the right supplies and knowledge of the island and its surroundings I could live. If I was stuck on a deserted island I would need a tent. I would need the largest tent ever made because I like my space. If I really needed the tent for other uses I could do that too!! The next thing I would need would be the band One Direction. There are two reasons I would need them. The first would be I love One Direction who wouldn’t want to be on the island with the most popular boy band in the world. The second reason is if One Direction went missing everyone would try to find them. I would need a kitchen and all the supplies in it. I would bake all day to keep my mind off of the island and never being rescued. A full working kitchen has food, heat, water, pots, and pan. To survive in any situation you NEED water and food. If I were to have these 3 things I could survive almost anywhere.

  19. If I had three things to have with me on an island I would have all of my friends. The second thing I would want with me is a mansion with all of the supplies needed to live for a lifetime and with the mansion would come with free electricity and plumbing. The third thing would be a five passenger diesel truck with unlimited gas. Those three things will make life very comfortable on a deserted island.

The main thing I would want is my friends. I would want my friends mainly for humor and company. We would always find something fun to do if we were bored. Also we could work as a team for big hunts and all of that good stuff.

The second main thing I would want is a mansion full of supplies that could fulfill a man and his friends for a lifetime. This mansion would come with electricity, plumbing, a kitchen, a living room, and a bed room for me and my friends with king sized beds and dressers for every single one of my friends. This would help us out tremendously because everyone would have food, water and a place to sleep and hangout. This also would mean less arguing.

The final thing is a five passenger diesel truck with unlimited gas. This would be used to explore the island. Also my friends and I could have fun times in the truck. The truck would also be used for animals we kill so we could get them back home.

  20. If i was deserted on a abondoned island and only could bring three things, those things would be a machete, food that will last me months and a lighter. I would use the machete as a tool to cut down trees to make a fort and also use it as a weapon if and animals attack me. I would put the food in a tree so that no animals can eat it on me. I would use the lighter to start fires at night as a signal that someone is on the island. I would stay in my fort or look around the island for any other source of food or if there are any other people are around. I would try to survive untill help comes or die trying.

  21. If I were stuck on a deserted island I would want to have my friends with me. I would want my friends with me so that I wouldn’t be all by myself. I would also want some weapons and medicine. I would want some weapons on the island with us so that we can use them to hunt food and help us cut down trees to build some huts. Medicine would be very helpful on the island in case someone were to get sick or were to get cut by something. With the ocean right next to us we can get water easily. It’s not easy to hunt for food on the island, but it isn’t impossible either. There aren’t many animals on the island other than wild boars. Other than the wild boars, there are only berries to eat. We haven’t had a problem with not being able to catch a boar yet, but there are only so many before we kill them all. From the moment we wake up we start to build our huts and make sure we feel comfortable in them. For those who do not build the huts are the ones who are hunting. we may be on this island for a while but we won’t give up trying to be rescued.

  22. When the day comes when I am deserted on an island (assuming that it may one day happen), the three things I would wish do have with me would be practical and feasible. I wouldn’t wish to live for a long time miserably, but happily for a short time.

The first object would be an empty journal with a pencil and sharpener, where I can write all of my thoughts and knowledge. It would include any feelings, ideas, and thoughts I would have or have ever had. This would aid my family or whoever found it.

The second object thing would be a wooden crate filled with every DC comic ever written and illustrated. This would provide me with enough reading material until I died (most likely of disease). I could then use the crate as a shelter when needed.

The third item I would wish to have with me would be a re-curve bow with hundreds of arrows and extra strings. This is because once I train myself I could use it to kill animals for food. Also, I would like to master a form of weaponry, such as archery before I die.

I believe that my three items were well chosen. These items would grant me the most happiness in a time that others would see as disappointing.

  23. If I was deserted on an island and I could have any three things, one thing I would choose would be a magical genie with unlimited wishes. With this genie, I could have anything I wanted. If life was good enough, I might even wish to not be rescued. The second thing I would bring on the island is fishing gear. With the fishing gear, I could catch fish and fish equals food and food equals health. I don’t want just any normal fishing gear. I want top of the line ocean gear. Finally, the third thing I would wish for would be is a very large supply of matches. With matches, I could have fire and fire would keep unwanted creatures away and I could cook my food with. Once my three wishes were used up, I would just use my genie for anymore necessary or luxurious wants. For example, I might need a more comfortable shelter or weapons to protect myself from any vicious creatures that might come out at night. Another thing I might want is a gun. By having a gun, I could hunt the animals that live on the island and also use it for protection.

  24. If I was stuck on deserted island and there was only three things i could bring, I would bring lighter, a knife, and food to last a few months. I would gather wood on the island then take the lighter to start a fire in order for warmth. I would bring a knife to carve the wood into spears to hunt down the animals with, and I would make a pan or something i could put over the fire to cook the food. Most of the food I bring would be canned, that way it would last a long time and I would be able to cook and eat it if I wasn't able to catch any animals that night. The other half of food that I would bring would be like candy and things like that. I would bring candy because it taste good, and it would be something different then pigs and such each night. On the island I would try to send out smoke signals. I would also try to be making a reliable boat that way I would be able to try to get back to land where there is legitamit food that i don't have to hunt for each night, and taste a lot better too! That is what I would bring to an island if I was stuck there.

  25. If I were to be stranded on a deserted island, I would wish for these three items to ensure my survival. I would wish for a helicopter with a tank full of fuel, a cell phone with unlimited battery, and a cell tower that followed me everywhere I went.

My helicopter would be top of the line with the latest helicopter technology. My cellular device would not have to be fancy. All it would need to do is make long distance calls and too not die on me. My cell tower is a magical tower. It has the ability to follow me everywhere I go. No matter where I went, it would give me the service necessary to make a long distance call.

The helicopter is my primary source of getting off the island. If that fails, I would use my cell phone to call some people to come and save me. Some people my wish for a knife, a water pot, and a lighter, but I say you wish for a helicopter and get right off the island. You may be able to survive for a while with your knife and lighter, but no one is going to find you. You will die and I will be back living the life in the United States.

  26. If I was stranded on a deserted island, I would bring at least three things, but really it depends on how you end up stranded on the island. Its not like you could chose to be stranded and the items that you happen to have with you. So, I guess if I did get to chose I would bring a lighter,a horse, and knife.

The lighter would help in one basic way, to start fires. In this case the fire would be more useful. With the fire I could cook food, boil water, and use it for warmth if needed.

I would bring a horse for multiple reasons. One main reason would be because I love horses. The second main reason is that they could serve as protection, and they are good companions. The last main reason is that they can be a source or transportation, and they can carry supplies like wood.

The last thing I would bring is a knife. A knife is practical and can be used in many ways also. I feel like most people already know how it can be used, so I am not going to explain it all.

  27. One month ago I crashed on this deserted island. I am the only person still alive. All I have is a solar powered eliodomestico which is a device that changes salt water to fresh water, a large knife, and a lighter.
So far I have built a large fire and am starting to build a house. I plan on building it in the trees so none of the vicious animals can attack me while I sleep. I have created a wooden spear to kill fish and have found a large nest of boar like creatures. I go out every morning and start filling the eliodomestico with ocean water and wait until it changes it to fresh water. When I am done with that I head out into the forest were I located the large nest of boar. After a long hunt I come to camp and cook my boar and drink my water. I always have a large fire going just in case I am lucky enough for a ship to pass my island. I am very lonely and need to find a monkey friend. I would tame him by picking all the bananas off the trees and feeding him whenever he came to my camp.
I don’t really enjoy my life on the island. Someone come save me now!!!!!

  28. I would bring hunting supplies, boat, also clothes. I would bring clothes so i could change everyday. I would feel really dirty not changing my clothes and i would bath in the water. I would find the best smelling stuff on the island and freshen up with that. My hunting supplies would help me hunt for food everyday. I can even use it to make shelter. I would use a bow an arrow for hunting animals and fish. My boat has a hole in it so i had to stop at this island. So i'm trying to make something to fix the hole. But for now on i'm stuck on this island. The food on this island is very hard to find. I built shelter with wood and leaves. I cant figure out what to use to fix my boat so im stuck on this island till i do. But i think i can really live here i'm pretty good with all this wildness. I got bit by a snake on my arm so i had leeches suck it out.But i'm doing a great job and i will make it on this island.

  29. If I were stranded on an island the three things I'd want is a satellite phone, huge amounts of canned food, and a knife. Having a way to communicate via satellite would greatly maximize my chances of contact with the outside world which would help me get rescued. The canned food lets me use less energy trying to find food and water, and it lasts a lot longer than fresh kill. This also gives me more time to create or find a shelter to live in. Canned food would be useless if I couldn't open it so I'd use the knife. I could also use the knife to help create or cover a shelter using sticks and branches, and if necessary I could use it as a way to defend myself.

  30. I’d hate to be stranded on a deserted island, but if I ever am I would want a few things to support my needs. One item I would like to have would be my dog. My German shepherd, Monty, would be my guard/hunting dog. He is afraid of water and his own shadow, so I’m not sure how well it would work out. Also he sheds a lot so I could use his fur for bedding. Another item I would to bring with me would be a survival kit. In my survival kit I would have food, water, matches, and a “How to Survive on an Island” book, knives, pen, paper, and last but not least a small hand gun. I would hopefully have an unlimited supply of each thing. Last thing I would want with me would be a snow owl. I would use it like how it is used in Harry Potter to send messages. I’d hope that the messages would be received and that someone is coming to rescue me, hopefully by Eric Dane.

  31. If I were stuck on a deserted island would bring flint, a combat knife, and flare gun with fifty shots. These items would make it possible for me to survive on the island.
The flint would allow me to make fire. Fire is very important for survival and rescue. I could cook and boil water over it. The fire would also make smoke for potential rescue. Most importantly, it would keep me warm on the long, cold nights.
The knife would also be important. I could make spears for hunting and for protection around the camp. After I killed an animal I could also use the tendons or muscles to make a string and make a bow. The knife would also have a compartment in the handle that had a compass and a spot to hold the flint so I wouldn’t lose it. The compass would allow me to move around the island and not get lost.
The flare gun would help me get rescued. At night or during the day, I could shoot the gun and it will be seen by any passing ships or over passing aircraft. It could also be used to scare any attacking animal away.

  32. If I were stranded on a deserted island I know exactly what I would want. The first thing would be my girlfriend. I would get bored and lonely on the island and I would miss her like crazy if I were gone. I wouldn’t want her to suffer with me on the island, but thanks to the last thing I’m going to have on the island that won’t have to happen. I’d say I’d bring more people but that would just make life on the island harder because that would be more mouths to feed. The second thing I would want to have if I were stranded on a deserted island would be a lot of fishing gear. My reasons for wanting a lot of fishing gear would because I would get hungry stranded on an island and I would want to be able to catch fish pretty easily to eat. The last thing I would want on the island is a nice big helicopter that is very simple to drive. I would try as hard as possible to enjoy life on the island for a little bit and then eventually I would fly home and see my friends and family.

  33. If I was stuck on a deserted island I would take three things. The first thing I would take is the survivalist Bear Grllys. I would take him because he has a lot of knowledge about survival. He would be able to help me with food, shelter, and water. The second thing I would take is a camouflage crossbow with a lot of arrows. I would take the camouflage crossbow because I could use it for both bow hunting and fishing. The crossbow is better than a gun because you can reuse the arrows but you can not reuse bullets. Having the crossbow would solve what I need to get food to survive. The third thing I would take is a Bear Grylls survival knife that comes with a fire striker. I would choose the Bear Grylls knife because I can cut fire wood, small trees for shelter, and use it for protection against small wild animals. I can use the fire striker for starting fires so I can stay warm, cook food, and I also might be able to be rescued. As long as I have the items I explained above I would have a very good chance for survival.

  34. If I was stranded on a deserted island, I would want to have three items with me. Those items are a knife, a blanket, and a pair of my glasses. These three items would help me survive in many ways.

First of all, the knife would help me with many things. A knife would help me get food. I could use the knife to kill an animal to eat or to cut some fruit or vegetables. A knife could also help me make a shelter. I could use the knife to cut branches to build my shelter. I could also use the knife to cut wood for a fire.

A blanket could help with a few things. It could help me stay warm at night. I could also use it as a towel if I needed to. A blanket could help me build a shelter as well.

A pair of my glasses could help me in a few ways too. They would help me be able to see. They would also help me to make a fire. I could use the lens from the glasses to start the fire.

The three items I would like to have with me on a deserted island would help me with a lot of survival skills.

  35. If I was stuck on a deserted island and I could bring three things with me, I would want to bring a kit with supplies in it, an ATV and soap. I wouldn’t want to bring people with me because I think that I would get tired of them really quickly and want them to leave the island.
The kit that I would bring would have things like bandages, a fire starter, first aid supplies, a knife and other useful items to help my survival. If I needed to boil water to get rid of all the parasites then the box or kit that all the supplies came in would be useful for a container of water.
The ATV that I would bring would also need to have unlimited gas so I could get around my island and explore as much as I want or need to. It would also help me if I had to get away from any animals.
I would bring soap because I like to be clean and smell nice. My soap would probably be vanilla scented from Bath and Body Works because that’s my favorite. If I’m on this island for the rest of my life then I don’t want to be gross and dirty for forever.

  36. If i were stuck on a deserted island all by myself i would need three major items. I would bring some matches or maybe even flint and steel so that i could start a fire for warmth, i would bring a machete or some sort of knife, and i would bring a pit or pan. I would need these items for many things, i would use the matches for a fire to ensure my warmth, i would use the machete to cut open coconuts for a bowl, and i would use the pot or pan to heat salt water so that i could have water to bath with and water that i could drink. To make sure that the water wasn't always hot i would cover it and put it in the ocean so that it became very cold. To make the island more fun i would bring a basketball so that i could ball it up with some amazing deserted island beast and other animals. I would whittle a basket ball hoop out of a tree and a bunch of wood and i would make the rim out of some bent tree branches. I would take life on a deserted island very serious so that i could survive and get off of such an island like that.

  37. If I was stuck on an island I would bring three things with me. The first thing that I would bring is my phone that has a battery case. I would bring this because I would find service some where on the island and try and call for help. The second thing that I would bring is a knife. I would bring a knife because as im on the island I can kill some animals for food and I can cut down some fruits from the trees, also I can cut the founds from the tree and make a bed out of them so I would not be sleeping on the floor. The third thing that I would bring is my friend Jada because she has the things to survive like stuff to find food and to keep us alive so we wont starve to death.

  38. If I was ever deserted on an island I would take a knife, DSR50 sniper, and a bag pack. The knife can be used to gut the animals and make traps out of wood and dried vines. Also with the knife I need to make latter for a tree stand so I can use my DRS50 sniper rifle. My sniper rifle should be very handy so I can take down animals from very long distances. Every time I kill an animal I will put the bullets on the piece of vine for ever many animals I kill. My bag pack would be for whatever I think I need to keep from the animals I kill and supplies I find on the island. From the skills I learn when I was im military boot camp should help me find a way to survive on the island. If there are no animals on the island I would eat all of the bugs that I can find for some protein. Yes I would go crazy but in the end I new how to survive on an island and that’s all that matters to me. An hope someone will find my body so I can at least be remembered.

  39. I think that if the refugees in the novel were female, the entire story would have been different.
One thing that would be different is that there would be less competition for power. The girls would have stuck together, rather than splitting into two separate tribes. Their meetings would have been much more organized.
Another aspect that would be different is that they would have most likely put forth more effort while keeping the signal fire going. They would have worked much harder to catch a passing ship’s attention. They might have also thought of a different way to be rescued, such as making a flag that would be flown high above the forest.
A third difference is in the way that they gathered food. Their diets may have consisted of more fruits that were on the island. The boys spent far too much time hunting pigs while there were other food sources in the surrounding area.
A final difference is that the girls would have had better shelters. They could build them above the found to avoid getting wet. The shelters would also be more organized.
I believe that girls could survive just as long as the boys did on the island, if not longer.
